Nothing like a good famine to make you feel hungry.
I was watching the news about Dafur in the Sudan. The Sudanese government, you know the ones that have been wiping all the non Muslim poor people at a rate and scale to be considered genocide.
Now they get to lead the AU or African Union to help these people and save them from famine. I was watching the footage of weemen with their little babies getting treated by Doctors and I saw a little baby with tribal scaring over it's body, if its not enough that the thing is in pain with hunger but someone cut these marks into it's body and made at least 2 weeks of it's life even more miserable.
It may be the cradle of life and civilisation may have started there but it got the fuck out and stayed out.
On the news the Sudanese ambassador was asked if his government was fit to run the AU, he said that all the other states in Africa were corrupt and dirty so why not have Sudan run it? refreshing truthfulness at last.
These big stars that go to Africa to bring awareness to the world about their plight then come home to their air conditioned mansions and do a romantic comedy why don't they bring people back with them? its like other people's kids, you can look after them but you'll not know what its like to be a parent because you can hand them back at the end of the day.
Why feed a few people once when you can take one person and make a difference in their lives, you could sponsor a family or George Clooney could move a family or two into his Italian mansion.
Not in their back yard that's the typical trendy liberal way, write a cheque and put a bumper sticker on yer merc but sponsor one as a citizen nope.
There are Mexicans living in boxes right beside America but its the Africans that get the money, how is that right?
If yer house was on fire, just a little smoldering and across the road a neighbours house was also on fire but seriously, you wouldn't ignore yer own fire and rush over and try to put their lost cause fire out while yer house gets worse, unless you're a moron of course, you put yer own fire out first then go see if you can help afterwards.
